Semolina, which is commonly known as Suji or Rava in Indian households, is made from durum wheat. Triticum Durum is the scientific name of durum wheat. It is a cereal crop which is mainly grown in the Mediterranean region. Semolina is derived from the Italian word ‘Semol’, which means bran and has ‘ina’ as a suffix.

सूजी, जिसे आमतौर पर भारतीय घरों में सूजी या रवा के नाम से जाना जाता है, ड्यूरम गेहूं से बनाई जाती है। ट्रिटिकम ड्यूरम ड्यूरम गेहूं का वैज्ञानिक नाम है। यह एक अनाज की फसल है जो मुख्य रूप से भूमध्यसागरीय क्षेत्र में उगाई जाती है। सूजी इतालवी शब्द ‘सेमोल’ से ली गई है, जिसका अर्थ है चोकर और प्रत्यय के रूप में ‘इना’ होता है।
